The present report contains updated information about the market, including the final indicators of market development for 2014.

In domestic practice, fiberglass (as well as other composite materials) is used about 30–40 years. However the scope of its use had for a long time been limited to the military-industrial complex of the country. The spread of new technologies in civil industries in the USSR was hampered by strict rules of secrecy. The application of the imported composite materials was prohibited.

In the 70-ies of the last century the country had taken the first attempts to use pipes made of composite materials in commercial construction. Experts of VNIIST developed a fiberglass pipe, plated with polyethylene film inside. There were technology and original equipment created for continuous formation of a gas and oil-tight pipe. But further development of the production was prevented by the lack of polymer materials on the market.

The first positive changes in the production of FG pipes occurred only in the late 80s.

Research geography: detailed review of the Russian market of fiberglass pipes, brief overview of the global market conditions.
